Just wanted to be clear on something. I get confused with all the different types of contracts and such.

The sample EPIK contract I am looking at states:

Quote:

Article 8 (Work Hours) ① Employee shall work eight (Cool hours per day for five (5) calendar days per week from Monday
to Friday and shall not work on Saturdays, Sundays and any national holidays of the Republic of Korea.

So I can safely assume that Saturdays and Sundays will always be free?

you can work saturdays if you want to. you'll get overtime. they usually have classes every other saturday.

but if you don't want to, then be clear on that from the beginning (they'll likely try to corner you into it). if you agree to do it at first just to make a good/friendly/helpful impression on your principal, it'll be really awkward to get out of later, once it begins killing all your weekend plans.

Saturday school is only a half day every 1st, 3rd, and (caledar permitting) 5th Saturday of every month, so it's not really that big a deal or inconvenience.
