HI all.

Could use a little help. Has anyone gone to get a "statewide" criminal background check in NYC. Ive called 3 precincts and all have said they wont do that for me. What to do???? Im on a tight schedule. Does someone have any information on exactly where I can get it? And once I get it, where do I get it Aposilled?
Thanks for all the help.

I got one for PA. It's probably similar though, none of the local precincts in philly will do it..

I found the site for the PA state police and they offer statewide crcs.

google things like, "access to criminal record / history, background checks," etc.

then for the apostille, look for the website for New York's Dept of State, and look for things like "authentication of documents"

You will be sending it to them for the apostille. It needs to be notarized before it can be apostilled. For PA, you could request a notarized copy from the state police, which was easy. You should find out if that is the case, otherwise you will need to have it notarized before you can send it.

I live in Jersey got my fingerprints through the Sagem Morpho Service. About $40 and they're send you two notarized copies. Be sure that you check off on this option. Then you have to send it to the state for an apostille. Processing time is about 2 weeks or less

I got mine last year from NYC. I went to 1 Police Plaza and just got a city-wide check, but I think Korean immigration has changed that since. The NY Dept. of State (for your apostille) is on William St (or John St? one of those downtown). Before you go in, I had to get my criminal check notarized, got the seal confirmed from the county clerk's office where the notary was registered, and then went and paid for an apostille. About 10 min later, walked out.

Double check and make sure which check immigration wants (city, state, or federal).
