is that the Korean blonde guy that appears on all of their entertainment/variety/comedy shows?
story here:
http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/special/2009/06/178_46488.html
so if I understand this correctly, he basically played the puppy dog poodle for 2 years and she was so overcome by his "devotion" she agreed to become his girlfriend and he can officially now carry her purse?
Is this in any way indicative of how Korean "courtships" go?
that's special.
especially considering she's quite underwhelming in terms of physical attractiveness. |

Yeah because once you're identified you're expected to marry each other!
haha.. just kidding.. I don't know, really.

This bothers me a bit cos it's not like he's all that good looking, either! |

fair enough re his appearance, but apparently he was the one groveling.
I actually find her fairly "homely", at least based on that KT picture. Sorry if harsh, but true. |

I'm sure the fact that he's a very succesful and popular entertainer made her choice a little easier. I can't seem to turn on the TV without seeing him on like 3 channels at a time. It's not like some devoted GS clerk. |

I'm sure the fact that she's 29 and if she hits 30 without being married, like a dairy product she'll be past her 'Use Before' date. |

Jang is pretty popular in Korea as well, she is not extremely pretty, but she is smarter than lots of actresses, who cant get fame even by drinking soju or sleeping with others.
She has several songs that have become "songs you must sing" in Noraebang, which drive me crazy of course. 어머나 어머나 ~~~ 이따이따요 ~~~~
she is NOT in the same category of BoA. Hyori, she is pretty much a hometown sweetheart, who is adored by Koreans in their 20-40s.
She can be seen in many TV programs, even In the Korea No,1 comedy show GAG Concert, which means she really gets considerable attention.
It says she earns no less money than her boyfriend.

The problem in Korea is that what would be construed as stalking and harassment in the West is considered courtship here. I've heard of guys saying they kept asking a girl out who kept saying no, and she finally relented after the umpteenth time or so. Many marriages have resulted from this type of "courtship."
Perhaps that is why you see so many hot Korean women with either so-so or subhuman looking boyfriends. |

well I'll probably never quite "get" what Koreans are into and why/why not.
another story that caught my attention was this:
http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/art/2009/06/135_46506.html
I'm always interested someone who's bringing "sexy back".
and the picture of Chae-yeon looked appealing enough in the KT.
but when I you tubed her "banned" video - "Shake" not only could I not find what exactly made it "banned", but it immediately occurred to me that the only thing still natural about this woman is her perhaps her shoulders.
Everything else above the waist had had more "work done" than perhaps anyone else save Michael Jackson and it's painfully obvious.
I have nothing against women or men for that matter who want to get a little "work done" but when the end result is something of a new, plastic and freakish nature, rather than a small improvement on the original natural.. that's kind of where I draw the line.
oh well - back to my studies of "Korean culture" |

An outgoing, insteresting, smart, pretty woman with tons of money and popularity, has been single for years without any scandal.
Its worth two years affection.
Johnny, you are just being envious... |

ah my dear Panda..
but the spineless s groveler apparently has more than enough popularity and assumedly money of his own.
all of your other adjectives may be spot on, but pretty, at least based on that KT photo most certainly isn't one of them
but hey, different strokes for different folks
I just found it interesting he had to play poodle for two years just for the right to carry her purse in public
not something I'd ever do.. but hey... that strokes things again |

Hi,
Considering what would have to happen family wise and the traditional roles expected of her and him if there's a wedding it is not as surprising.
These two are stars however they are still Korean after all. |
