Hello!
I'm trying to get a feel for how many FTs I can expect to run into in ***-ri. I really don't know what to expect: will there be local food markets with western selections? I was told its about 40 minutes by taxi from ***-ri to Seohyun station (Bundang), is that accurate?
This doesn't seem to be a very rural location, but I just have no idea what to expect. Anyone out there, I would love your insight. Even if you've just been there once or know a friend there, etc.
Thanks.
EDIT:
Figured I should take out the names, since I don't want to name the school on a public forum (or make it too easy to figure out).

So far, the 'feel' is cold. Cold as ice.
I know there must be at least one other there, but guess he hasn't found daves yet.
Bump for great justice? |

It's about 20 mins from Gwangju where I'm sure there will be a decent number of foreigners. There's a foreign teachers group on Facebook for Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do. I lived there 3 years ago and at that time there were aound 20 foreign teachers but I'm sure there will be more now.
On a side note, Gonjiam is famous for cow head soup (so mori guk bap). Forced it down in a restaurant in Gonjiam...not the tastiest food I've tried in my time here. |

40 mins to bundang is about right and 20mins to gwangju. I'd say there are about 20ish in Gwangju and the surrounding area. I can think of 15ish in the downtown area. Gwangju is alright, nout special though. WA bar sees some expat action but personally warbar is a bit shit. I know two people who live near gwangju and work in gonjiam though, check out the other gwangju on facebook and just post a message. gl. |
