Everytime I want to register on a Korean site, it always demands a Korean identification number. And of course, I dont have one.

Is there any way around this? Or a system to generate fake numbers?

By the way, I tried to post on MITHRIDATES' site, but the same thing happen. Help me out guys.

Most of the sites require the ID number, but some like cyworld allow foreigners to register. Ironically, it's all in Korean so reading and typing in the language would be a requirement unless you have a Korean friend.

Mithridates helped me out with cyworld. Thanks again.

There was a post on this topic before, but I couldn't find it with the search option. At any rate, I have do have a Korean ID generating program I'd be happy to send you. You'll need to run it on a PC with Korean Windows, extract your number and surf.

PM me if you want it.

Yup cyworld has an option to register as a foreigner, so you don't need that number.

Give ya a hint if your korean sucks arse, just read the bottom left hand part of your browser where it tells you what the link ID is, as you put the mouse over it.

Example, if you put your mouse over "GENERAL DISCUSSION FORUM"

You see http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/..." and some other stuff right?

Usually can help you a lot on Korean websites. Or just learn Korean Razz

I've got a couple as well, but they don't generate a name and the two seem somehow related. . .

Not everyone is in Korea, and if I remember the old post, there was a problem with the foreigner ID working on Korean websites.

I got it from another poster on this forum who used it and said it worked for him. I have never used it myself though. I won't bother looking at a Korean site that asks me to go through any registration process. I'm too impatient.

You can download it here: http://www.autobanners.net/korean/korenid.zip

Post if it works out for you. If it doesn't, I'll take it down so no one wastes their time with it.
