My friend will be arriving in Korea late July. I am not sure if we should stay in Seoul or Incheon. I haven't been to Seoul yet and I don't know how far away it is from Incheon either. Can anyone recommend some decent hotels in either area...? I am very clueless about this part of Korea unfortunately.

I thought we might stop in Suwon and check out the fortress. Has anyone gone? Is there a bus that will stop in Suwon on a way to Jeonnam (where I live).

Once we arrive in Jeonnam, I know tons of places to go. And I plan on taking her to Jeju as well for a few days. But like I said, outside of Jeonnam I am kind of lost.

Can anyone recommend anything around Seoul or on the way from Seoul to Gwangju that may be worth checking out? I really want her to have fun here and I want to try to plan as much as possible so things go smoothly and we don't waste time struggling to find hotels, train routes, sight last minute!

If it's a guy -

As soon as he gets off the plane, take the limo to Itaewon. Take him for Samguipsal and get him f'd up on sojo shots and poktangju. Then take him to a bar on the hill and pay one of the ladies 100,000 to be nice to him.

An unforgettable introduction and first night in Korea!!!

Very Happy

Search Dwaejimorigukbap's post on his dreams.

Read it.

Never listen to anything he says again.

Things to do in Seoul:
See a play at Chang Dong theater
Visit the palaces
Go out in Hongdae
Go out in Itaewon
Go out in Gangnam
Go shopping at Dongdaemun and Myeong Dong
Use the bathroom in Namsan Tower
Make signs railing against U.S. Beef
Hike up to Dobongsan
Walk around the Olympic Park
Go to COEX
See Nanta
Grab a tour to the DMZ
Buy cheap souveniers in Namdaemun
Sit in on a protest in the park

that's all I can think of off the top of my head

those are the touristy things

What is special about the bathroom in namson tower?

They still have tours to the DMZ? Is that worthwhile?
