I signed my new Incheon public school contract last week.

Interesting, now there is no airfare. But, there is a new entry and exit allowance of 1,300,000 won for each. Is this enough for you to get home? For me it is at the limit as I use Halifax, N.S as my home city before. I think this will mean that we do not have to prove about our flights and costs to Korea with this method.

We still get a completion of contract bonus of 2,000,000 won, but it is no longer equal to what we make in a month.

There is a resign bonus thourh of 2,000,000 so that is cool, but if you get that you do not get the 1,300,000 won entry allowance...cheap bastards. Sorry, but with the won on the roller coaster that it has been I have lost money on this last contract, especially with the money I saved here in won, so I would like some back. Smile

The W2,000,000 is NOT a bonus for re-signing. It's a Renewal Allowance that replaces round-trip airfare.

Not a bonus.

Sob sob sob, getting home is expensive...but in 4 years have not gone back at all. Smile

Be to on at least 12 different flights on my vacations and weekends here. But, nevertheless does cut my money down.

And it would be nice to get my copy of my contract back from them.

I don't see that as a bad deal. I would rather have the money than the airlines taking it.

Is the 2,000,000 won a resigning bonus?

so under the new contracts you get a 1.3 exit allowance and a 2.0 re-signing bonus? If that's correct, the new contracts are much better. Is that correct though? I have been hearing mixed interpretations.

It adds up to 3.3 million I'm pretty sure. Is that taxed?

If you RENEW your contract you get the 2.000.000원. If you DON'T renew you get the 1.300.000원. Not 3.3million. The 1.3 is for your ticket 'home' if you are not going to renew. The 2.0 is for a return ticket to Koreaif you decide to do another year Exclamation

NO. You get one OR the other. NOT both. The 1.3 is for returning home, the 2.0 million for resigning.
