about their metro!
Finally a new "subway" line in Ilsan has been completed, and their stations have been refurbished. Their original gawful service went from once an hour (is that service??) to 4 times an hour, which makes me think its the same as Line 3 at this point. Finally, a quick way to Seoul Yuk. (should help when I have to bbali bbali to Bucheon)
Went for a walk around the station last night, as of yet they still had no map
But its good to know I can use the T-money card
Does anyone else live in/travel to Ilsan? Will you use the new line? |

I'm in Ilsan, and I still haven't seen Itaewon, so I'll probably use it eventually. Don't know about the card, though. |

Let me get this straight. There is a faster alternative to the underground? It about 90 mins to get anywhere in seoul atm! |

| I took it tonight. I had to wait a while for the train to come, but it was 10:45PM so it may be because of the time, but it also went rather slow. It was only 2 stops to Seoul Station, but it took almost 20 minutes. However, it may just be hiccups at the start of the service and we waited a while at Sinchon station. It was only 5 minutes from Gajwa to Sinchon station. Also, the exit at Seoul Station is on the backside of the station, so you can't transfer. |

I'm sorry to hear about that. Actually, I was hoping this would be a faster alternative for getting to Bucheon, rather than the bus (which is too much walking). Maybe the time you took the train did effect the arrival to Seoul. I'll take it Sunday and update if they make me late or not |

I saw the fare gate, and asked the service attendant if T-Money was possible. She told me it was |

Is there a new station for this somewhere? I've never even heard of the line.
I've just been taking the bus down to Yonsei - being close to Hongdae and college girls is all I really need. |

It isn't a new line. It is the old commuter train line, but now just has metro trains running about every 15 minutes. It is fully integrated into the subway system with transfer stations and everything, but you can not transfer at Seoul station. You have to walk a few minutes to get to the other subway lines there. I only took the train 2 stops and it wasn't too bad except for the Sinchon to Seoul station sections which seemed to take forever. However, this may just be because it is new.
If you want to know where the stop are, the best way is to go to google and search Seoul subway map.

Yes. Take the bus (1000, 1200 or 2000). It's much faster than Line 3 as it takes a direct route, uses bus lanes and the drivers usually skip the red lights. You can get to Yonsei Uni stop (for Shinchon) in less than 30 mins and less than an additional 10 for the Gwanghwamun stop.
What ajgeddes said about the "new" line. It's NOT anything to do with line 3 although you can transfer to/from it at Daegok. |
