My Korean consulate general has made my life pretty stressful for no real good reason. Her attitude is horrible (just as many have told me) and I'm wondering if there is a way to either talk to her superiors or just file in a complaint.
Anyone know how? |

| Lots of ways to file a complaint - Send a letter to the consulate - there should be a listing on the website of the higher-ups - and send a copy to your local MP/representative and city council. |

I don't know anything about Canadian consulates, but I know a lot about human nature. These civil servants can have an inordinate amount of power over us sometimes and they are not afraid to wield it. It is usually best to grin and bear it, at least until you have what you need in your hands. Even then, be careful, as you may have to return for something else someday.
I share your frustration on this. |

The consulate general? Wow, that must be one tough building!
Seriously, there is a way to file a complaint against a Consul or Conusl-general. You write a letter to the ambassador. If you don't get a satisfactory response, then you go up the chain: Foreign Minister, Prime Minister, President.
For the above, I'm assuming that you're referring to the Consul-general of the Republic of Korea who's assigned to your home country. If you're concerned with the Consul-general of your home country assigned to Korea, then you follow a similar chain: Ambassador, Foreign Minister/Secretary of State, Prime Minister/President. |

Mr. Choi,
Ministry of Justice
Resident Policy Section
02-500-9068 (Within Korea) 82-2-500-9068 (outside Korea)

Try this guy. When the wench you are talking about implemented those retarded rules, I spoke to him. Although, he wasn't much help though, as he didn't understand what she had done, or what a VSS was.
He is responsible for all the policies that are implemented as for the E2 teachers. |

Little good it will do. They don't care about us foreigners IN Korea. Why should they care about us at their consulates?
As long as enough people keep signing up to come over to Korea, the nonsense will continue.
I got power-tripped as well by some arrogant Embassy worker. I just bent over and took it, then smiled and said thank you. That's the best thing to do when dealing with tyrants in power. They'll mess with you less that way. |

Might as well shout at the clouds and complain about the rain.
Now if you want to get something done get some interests (i.e. business interests) to make a call on your behalf.
"When I read your magazine, I don't see one wrinkled face or single toothless grin. For Shame. To the Sickos at Modern Bride Magazine."
Grampa Simpson- whose complaint probably went farther in a TV show than yours will in real life.
Just get some people with actual power to advocate on your behalf.
Or try your strongly worded letter to the Korean Ambassador to the Wherever. "What? Joe Blow got bad service from the Consul-General? REFORM NOW!!!" |
