Can anyone give me some advice on the above??
Really wanna go to south korea but don't know about committing to a full 12 months............
are there any companies that do shorter contracts???
Also, it seems the only holidays u get in the space of 12 months is 2 weeks plus some public holidays..... that sounds a bit harsh..........
any advice or information greatly appreciated!!
thanks

I also I trying to find a relieble recruiter to work with. I started out working with New Avenues English but my Universities career center, found a lot of red flags about the orginization when researching it. Currently I am thinking about BCI Academy as well as Travel and Teach Recruiting. If any body has had any experience working with Either of these organizations it would be vary helpful. |

Recruiters 'misrepresent the truth'. Use many and apply due diligence. They are not your friend and don't work for you.
If you don't want to commit to a year, try a 'camp' job for a month or so... you'll have to move fast to do this (and won't have time to apply due diligence).
Contractual holidays vary by a wide margin (even with PS jobs). The number of actual public (statutory) holidays depend on:
1. your contract (i.e. do you normally work on weekends?);
2. the Gregorian calendar (some principals still work on the Julian calendar );
3. the lunar calendar. |

Both of you are making a mistake.
You do not use one recruiter, you use them all, they are working for the schools, and are getting paid well, make them work, don't let them push you into a job you don't want. remember if the job works out badly 9 times out of 10 they won't care they have done their job.
With that in mind I do recommend korvia

And regarding the holidays, cadburys (kiwi?) the holidays suck but that's just the culture here university jobs get the most followed by public schools (between months and a few weeks off) with hagwons having the least normally 10 days sometimes less.
Sometimes shorter contracts do come up but they are not common, the visa is a 12 month visa, so the contracts tend to be 12 month. There were a bunch of 11 month contracts a few years ago but you don't want one of those |
