Seem the site has changed for the worse. I wanted to do a simple search today, but it now requires us to log in to search Daves so here I am. I made one post to the severance pay thread, looked at some more topics for 10 minutes, and then I get this for a while.
"phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database"
And it then works now. Dave's has drastically changed since '06 when it used to be fast with no errors. I didn't log in last year since I could search without logging in and didn't need to start a new thread, but noticed it got slower and slower as time went on when trying to view it so I used it less and less.
Is this site on it's last leg? Can anyone fill us in on what's going on? Kinda concerned, becuase it contains a great deal of knowledge from experienced users about Korea. Can the discussion forumn be uploaded to a hard disk to preserve it for reference? Like the past year of it, especially the stickies? |

Actually, for quite a while, up until recently, the site was horrendously slow. It's back to decent speeds. I don't think the phpBB error is that common. |

| When I search for multiple words it just pops up with a big white screen, but is very fast with single words. Odd :\ |

To be fair, the site does seem to have been quicker these past few days, which is saying something.
For a long, long time, there were certain times of the day when posting anything was just an absolute nightmare, though usually in the afternoons and at around 9pm Korea time. |

Not odd. Purposefully designed this way. Forces people to post new threads. Makes the site appear more attractive to advertisers. |
