HAS ANYONE ELSE NOTICED FROM WATCHING KOREAN PANEL, GAG, AND TALK SHOWS THAT EVERY JOKE MUST BE YELLED AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS, AFTER WHICH THE LAUGH TRACK GOES CRAZY?

HAVE YOU MADE THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THIS, AND YOUR STUDENT'S BEHAVIOR? BECAUSE I HAVE. THE "CLASS CLOWNS" THAT YOU TEACH, WHO YOU CAN'T GET TO STOP YELLING, ARE ALL IMITATING WHAT THEY SEE ON TV! A JOKE CAN'T POSSIBLY BE FUNNY UNLESS IT'S YELLED!

I personally hope, every day, that eventually there will be a famous actor in the "Hugh Grant/Michael Cera" mold, where every joke is delivered as an aside/throwaway line. I'm not sure the Korean audience would be conditioned to laugh at such a non-traditional and subtle performer, but I promise you everyone's classes would be so much easier if they would. Because if even *one* performer became popular for doing so, EVERY OTHER performer would copy him. Yelling performers would be wangta, and class clowns would be content in whispering snide remarks and cracking up only their friends, instead of every single person in the class. Ahhhh, what a paradise that would be!

There are other panel comedy shows where wit and charm are more appreciated.

I understand you...like that a-hole 노홍철. I'd like to jump off the roof of a hyundai apart-eu and land on his freaking head.

I noticed that EVERY emotion on Korean t.v. is exaggerated and overblown, really like feelings on steroids, it's not just with the laughs.

It's a cultural thing.

Strange indeed.

Especially if you're girlfriend is stressed out, its like SETTLE DOWN WOMAN.

And I noticed Koreans don't exactly have a very developed humor, I heard that stand up comedy is like, an underground thing. Here in the states, if you don't like stand up you're probably not from the US.

Like when they grab their entire forearm when making a *beep editing myself for an unintentional filter dodge* joke? I don't think subtlety is a strong suit in popular humor here.
