| Not necessarily, the last few years have seen a rainy August, which is good because then it's not as hot. |

yep
the Monsoon season in Korea is only from mid-June to mid-July
then nearly a month of hot and sunny and just normal occasional cloudy weather
then the Typhoon season in Korea goes from mid-August to mid-September, bringing mostly windy rains as the majority of typhoons turn and hit Japan, the peripheral weather clipping the peninsula (only two typhoons in my seven years here have actually hit the peninsula directly)
the best time each year to hit the beach (i know because i always go then) is the end of May, end of July and end of September...BANK on those times being nice weather, with other times in the summer being hit and miss, depending on when the gaps between monsoon rains and typhoons are |

I was just watching the news, there is a fair amount of flooding even here in Seoul. The amount of rain coming down in a small period of time is going to be a problem.
Hopefully in another week or week and a half it will come to an end. Yaya is right, it has rained in early August quite a bit the last few years. Though I won't be here, it will be interesting to see if that trend continues. |

The average rainfall for July in Seoul is over 400 mm, or 16 inches.
VI, were you in Korea for Typhoon Rusa?

The beginning of the rainy season has warm/hot days and cool nights. By the end it transitions into hot sweltering days and hot muggy nights (the newspapers call them 'tropical nights'). Ugh.
A week or so...that's about right. |

True that, hopefully it will last longer - I hate humid heat more than anything, I would trade a month's salary for rain vs hot & humid. |

Lol its just funny dude.
But anyway, I can't stand the weather. It's a female dog doing to work with toxic rain pouring down. It isn't helped by the fact that the subways are cramped with other people holding drenched umbrellas and some people are too simple minded to think that other people are gonna use the seats so they place their toxic rain drenched umbrellas on the seats. |
