So I was buying glasses this morning in my small fishing town and the guy asked me if I wanted coffee. I said yes, thinking he had a machine in the back. Well about 15 minutes later a 다방 girl walks in, clearly older than me and not that attractive. So I was in a pinch I felt.

They were both laughing cuz I only spoke a little Korean. Anyways I had the coffee and said thanks. But she said something at the end as if i was supposed to react. Sounded lik 나이 or na-ee, not sure what it means but if someone knows please clue me in.

lol i LOVE the fact that you understand the concept of 다방 girls but haven't learned the word "나이" yet, it clearly shows what your priorities here in Korea are

I know 나이 but not 다방 girls. Someone fill me in. I mean, I have a pretty good guess from context, but to be on the safe side

I was not at a tea house, I was at the 안경원. The man offered me coffee and I said ok, he then called the Dabang girl, which unless I'm mistaken is a off brand of *beep* house. Ajossis go to them have coffee and if they want to pay a little extra they get some TLC....

My priorities in Korea are that of any other red blooded male! Very Happy

Hmmm that's interesting. Da bangs in korea tend to be pretty closed to all but ethnic Koreans as far as the services are concerned. Maybe they are beginning to hurt for business?

A comedian said it best...I forget who. But he said, you can tell you're being solicited by a hooker when you saddle up to the bar, she gets flirty, you buy her a drink, you get to talking, she seems really interested and interesting, and then she tells you she costs $300 an hour.

In other words, no way to be sure.

I hear these things are common in small towns, but are not so in Seoul.

Korea Sparkling.
