|
|
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has done their E-2 process at the Toronto consulate recently? My boyfriend and I submitted our stuff together, so they received our applications with confirmation numbers/passports etc. today.
I was just wondering how long it would actually take for them to a) call about an interview if needed? b) stamp our Visas in our passports so we can pick them up?
Also, does their online site actually update the status of your Visa, or is it just for show?
Thanks a lot - I am really just looking for a decent timeline since our hagwon wants us out of here next week and frankly, we both want to get things in gear too. |

I was under the impression that when you go drop off your passport/visa code.... that you would book your interview, usually for the next week.
I heard that sometimes you can get your visa in your passport on the same day upon successfully completing your interview
but can someone clarify about whether or not you book your interview when you drop off your stuff? |

We mailed in our stuff as we live far enough a way for it to be a hassle to keep making trips to the consulate. The courier we used confirmed they recieved our package this morning.
I've heard from a few people they call for an interview, so I was just trying to put feelers out as to how long this should take. There website also says nothing about calling them, so I'm not to worried about that. |

The website updater was very reliable in my experience - if you're missing any paperwork, need an interview, or if your visa is ready to be picked up, they'll update the site. Just keep refreshing
My E2 took about 7 business days, if I remember correctly. |

Actually the consulate called us today. The lady I was talking to was really nice and they were very accomodating.
I ended up not needing an interview, but my boyfriend is going to have to have one since he's a newbie. But they were nice enough to arrange it so he could pick up my passport and his right after they finish, with our new visas, so we can leave the same night |
