I'm looking at a job in GwangMyeong. Does anyone have postive or negative info about the place? |

I live not too far from there. It is a pretty good district, loads of pubs and restaurants and a few foreigners. Also it's really not that far from central Seoul, probably about 13,000 - 15,000 won in a taxi from central Seoul to home. |

Lived there for 2 years before moving to Bucheon...nice, quiet place...most people are friendly towards foreigners (more here than you may think..they seem to come out of the woodwork) but still your typical Korean 'burb...big plans for expansion so property prices are skyrocketing and rumour has it the new bullet train will have a station here...no major movie theaters yet, closest being at Guro (CVG) station which is only about 15 minutes away by train...45 minutes to COEX...same to Itaewon/Insadong (depending on traffic and which train) but overall.....not a bad place |

Been in G.M. for 7 months now. I find it to be a little boring, and a little too industrial for my liking, but no major complaints. Have heard rumours of many other foreigner teachers living here, but between me and my room-mate, we have only met one other teacher from Australia. G.M. itself occupies a relatively large area though, so I guess it just depends on where your school is located. About 45 minutes to Sinchon or Gangnam, and a 14,000 won cab ride if you miss the subway after it closes. Cheolsan is the best area we've discovered in G.M. for bars, but usually we have the most fun when we go to another part of Seoul for a night out. |
