A friend of mine just traveled to Korea (to visit me), and made a very artistic video of it all. I watched it, and was moved by it... it really made me miss the place, and realize that it is quite interesting in a way we tend to overlook after living there for a while... a place which opens up your eyes a little, to a totally different, yet familiar world...

Anyhow, I thought I would share it with you... most of it was shot in Korea, and a little in Tokyo. (You can find me in the vid..hehe.. can anyone guess who I am?)

Check it out on youtube:

That was cool....

I love how they filmed the ajummas getting off the train... lost and fighting. Why does it seem that ajummas are the ones that seem the most lost with a group of other women, and they always end up arguing about where to go? lol

I thought the foreshadowing was nice too, talking about that corn snack...

"So good and painful at the same time" very much like Korea Laughing

Great vids.......I love the Deli Manjoo bit too, but I like it because whoever says "the pain and the pleasure" in the background sounds just like kermit, down to the little chuckle afterwards....

The opening in part one is Busan, right? It looked just like my photos from about a month ago..

Yes, many scenes (including the opening) were shot in Busan. We went on a little tour of Busan, Daegu, Gyeongju, and of course, Seoul. And it's so true, the 'corn' does represent Korea: pain & pleasure all at once!

I wonder how Koreans would react to this?

A really nice collection of short films, good songs as well. Having travelled for the last year I somehow have a new found appreciation for Korea.

Either you're standing in line with the hottie at 3.46, or you're playing the video game at 2.55, or talking to the high school girls in the "corn" food line at 4:19? Very Happy

Can you name the music playing during vid number 1?

The Whitest Boy Alive - Island -- amazing band

These videos are absolutely awesome... This is exactly the type of video I was looking for about Korea but could never find... Amazing soundtrack, (love The Whitest Boy Alive, Ratatat)... I studied film and edit video, so I really appreciate all the time and effort it took to make them...the distortion of time throughout the pieces is sweet... I'm currently making a video just like this for my Thailand travels and this is great inspiration.... thanks so much for posting this, fantastic stuff!

Pretty sweet!! I don't know a single thing about making videos, photography etc, but your friend did a excellent job. The sound track did bum me out a bit.
