Ok I just booked a stupid ass flight and I just realized something,
They gave me 45 minutes from the arrival time to get my ass onto an international flight.
45 minutes!
What the hell kind of iternary is that.
OK Ok, I understand it's my mistake for booking that flight. But why would they even offer an impossible itinerary? And then, charge me to change, some ridiculous fees of $100 usd.
I'll never use them again. I thought all the badmouthing about orbitz couldn't have been that bad. I was wrong. |

Why is 45 minutes bad? You're bags are all ready checked. All you have to do is walk from one gate to another. |

45 minutes for an international transfer is a bit rushed, but fine. If you miss the second flight because of late arriving flight, the airline will have to put you on the next available flight and probably give you a hotel. That depends a bit on if both flights are on the same airline. If both flights are on the same airline, you are good as gold. |

Will they do that? I thought if I missed my flight they would leave me stranded?
PS, yep they are both delta ^^ |

If it is the same airline and on the same ticket (same reservation), and you missed a connecting flight, they will put you on the next flight and give you a hotel room if necessary. They will even put you on another airline if someone else is leaving earlier.
If it is different airlines, but on the same ticket (same reservation), they will still get you on the next flight, but may not get the hotel. Not sure about this case.
If the two flights were on separate tickets, you would be out of luck. But I don't think this is the case here since with separate tickets you would have to receive your luggage and do a full check-in again. That would be impossible with 45 minutes.
Once you check in and they put tags on your bags for the final destination (Incheon?) and they give you boarding passed for the final destination (Incheon?), they are going to get you there, one way or another.
Maybe put one set of underwear and socks in your carry-on bag, since if you do miss your connecting flight, you probably wont get to claim your checked luggage again until the final destination. |

Both Flights on Delta, you are fine. Once they check you in, you are good as in Korea. You change planes in Narita (Tokyo, Japan)? It is a small but crowded terminal. As you get off the first plane just keep asking their staff which way to go.
Are you talking about 45 minutes to change planes with both flights international (In Japan)?
Or do you mean 45 minutes to go from domestic flight to your international flight (in Atlanta or LA)?
If you mean domestic to International, that could be rather scary. But still, if they issue the ticket, they can get you there. |

yeah it's 45 mins domestic flight to international flight.
It scares the crap out of me, I've never been to the Atlanta airport.
I guess your right, if the flight exists, I should be fine...
and if all else fails I could start freaking out and get everyone around me really uncomfortable and let me go through first.
Thanks drew, I can sigh with relief ... ^^ |

Yeah, Atlanta is pretty huge. Delta has 3 or 4 terminals connected by a train. You might be all in the same terminal, or maybe not. But your bags will already be checked through, you just have to run between gates.
You can get your seat assignments online 90 days early, try to sit near the front on the flight into Atlanta.
Ask the flight attendant on the flight into Atlanta if your transfer is in the same terminal. Maybe she can give you pointers.
If they sell the ticket, it is possible.
Once you have boarding passes in your hand (after check-in), it is all their problem to get you to the destination. |

This crap happens to me all the time. No worries at all. Usually I panic and then get to the international flight and the place is like a graveyard. If you get there early you sit on your behind wondering what the hell to do. |

Gate B to E...
Thanks Blackjack, this makes it a little more solid my route.
It's far but I feel more manageable now that I can see the route... Although it's pretty far, My flights gets off right next to the tram,
So I pop on that baby, ride it like a trapped hamster in a wheel, panicking and moving my legs, until I get off and sprint to the E gate.
K, I feel even more better. THanks again guys. You saved me the rebooking fees of $200 USD. really I'm dead grateful. |

If there was an issue with your first flight they would probably hold the second flight. You probably are not the only one trying to get that connection. |

No better way to get jacked on the price of anything than go through one of those major websites... You can ALWAYS get cheaper and better flights if you look around. |

You'll be fine. Just don't dally.
I flew through Atlanta a few weeks ago. There is a small subway below hooking all of the concourses together. After you leave your entry flight, just look on the monitor and find what concourse your new plane is on. Follow the signs downstairs to take the subway car to the correct concourse. Get out at the correct concourse, go upstairs, and head down the proper side toward your plane.
Easy-peasy. I was actually impressed with the efficiency of Atlanta's airport, and don't know why people worry about it. Maybe they've never taken a subway before, and are freaked. Compared to Seoul's subway system, it's kind of like a subway you'd build for your home or something. Only goes 2 directions.
Houston... now that airport sucks. |
