I ask because I see conflicting numbers all the time. I see it advertised that there are 100,000 or more, but I've read newspaper articles that quote the number at about 25,000. That's a big difference. Any thoughts? |

In a December 2007 memorandum issued by Immigration when they changed their visa regulation policies, they quoted as saying there where around 20,000 foreign teachers. I believe that was FT's on E2 visas. So it is more than likely around 25,000~30,000 now, if you also include the F series crowd. |

Immigration would tell you there are 5 million foreign English teachers here with forged certificates and without visas. And aids. And gambling problems. I could go on.
Ooh, someone's cranky this morning. |

Whatever number there is officially, that doesn't include the number who aren't teaching legally. Try the Immigration website for the official number? It might be there. |

Foreigners get turned into sexaholic, alcoholic scumbags while they are in Korea. They aren't like that before they go. That's how it was with me at least. |
