A few years ago another poster here (Harpeau if I recall correctly) recommended this place to me. I've recently gone back and found the experience so wonderful that I thought I'd plug it here.
It's a coffee shop that freshly roasts their own beans- next to the cafe they have a roaster about the size of a BMW Austin Mini. As you might imagine, the coffee is great. Most of the beans go for around 30,000 won per 500 grams (you can buy it in 100g and 200g bags too), so don't go expecting a bargain. Still, the 250g bags of beans at Starbucks are around 15,000 won, and they're not fresh.
Exit Hongik University station, exit 5. Turn right, then left at the 2nd little street that goes out at an angle (it's a confusing intersection), then right at a barbeque place. Walk straight down that road for a little bit until you see it on your left. If you get hopelessly lost, call them at 02) 335-7770 (I got so hopelessly lost someone from the cafe had to come get me  ).
Keep in mind they don't speak English, although alot of coffee words are the same, like bold, smooth, etc. |

Well, their coffee is *good*, but cup for cup I wouldn't rate it too much higher than Coffee Lab, Lazy Sue's(Itaewon), or Standing Coffee.
What sets them apart is the Luwak Coffee that they serve. That stuff is amazing. |

| I just enjoyed 2 cups of joe that I would stack up against any in Korea. Made by myself. With my low-tech espresso maker. On a portable burner. In my temporary housing(love motel). Happy as hell too as it has been several days since I have been able to do it. |
