I've heard varying things about this... does anyone know if the school/employer is required to give 30 days of (written) notice if they terminate your contract, or pay you 30 days of wages from the time you are notified??

What if this isn't in the contract? Also, what about the housing allowance? Are they required to pay that as well??

Hate to get literal, but it involves understanding your situation more.

It's not 30 days of notice, it's ONE 30 day notice. Next, it's not 30 days of wages. It's more like 20 days if you were scheduled for 5 days a week. More likely, we can sum it up into 1 month's salary.

I am sure it's a labor law, so if it's not in the contract, that shouldn't prevent you from expecting it. They have to give you either 1 more month of work or pay you for that month.

And last, what housing allowance are you expecting? If they have given you housing allowance up until now, I would expect one more for the month, and then that's it. However, I wouldn't worry so much about that as the final month.

It's better in my opinion to just get your final month of teaching (your salary) and move on. Forget the housing allowance.
