There is a good writer, Peter Jenkins, he walked across America. Maine to Lousiana in one book, and another book Lousiana to Oregon. He later wrote another book 'Across China'. Not sure where he went exactly.

You can't walk the entire wall. It's not "a" wall. It's a series of walls, some of which don't connect with the rest. You may be able to walk from the most easterly point to the most westerly one or something like that but the"entire" thing really isn't feasible.

I think walking hundreds of miles on a wall would get boring after a few days.

I love walking, but I was pretty bored after walking on the Wall for 3-4 hours. It sounds great from afar, but not so amazingly incredible when you are actually there.

I'd rather hike a mountain chain, like Appalachian Trail or Pacific Crest Trail. At least you'd have gorgeous scenery and meet other interesting people along the way.

Did yo bother to do a Google search?

A couple of guys from Michigan did it a couple of years ago:

1800 miles, 109 days

edit:

There is even a tour now:
http://china-hiking.com/greatwall/
Guess this is not what you're looking for, but I think you can find some useful info there (sightseeing places near the wall etc.)
