Why would UFC fans be upset? Anderson Silva is a UFC fighter. |

Overhyped? With the exception of Fedor and maybe Mousasi the UFC has all the best fighters. |

I would like to see GSP fight Anderson Silva at a catch weight. It could happen. I think Silva would pick GSP apart. Anderson Silva should move up to 205 if he wants to challenge himself. |

While GSP v Silva would be interesting, I don't think it'll be in the cards. At a 'catch' weight i think both are disadvantaged but hard to say who'd be most effected. GSP routinely cuts to hit 170, so he'd have less to cut but of course out of his optimum fighting range. Not sure how much Silva cuts, but likely close to GSP to reach his middleweight 185. Another 7.5 lbs, let's say, and not sure how much of an effect this would have on his stamina (though i'd guess he'd tire faster).
Don't think we'd see a Matt Sera 1 performance from GSP, even though it'd be quite a tense experience. If he could get ahold of Spidy, I think it would go his way and the stamina factor would work to his advantage. Course, Spidy has the potential to end it standing up--it'd be avoid major damage before getting inside for GSP to win, or get knocked out trying.
I think Silva v Machida would be better for both fighters. From what we've just seen from Silva, there could be no excuses about the weight for either fighter (vs the above). Anyone who fights Silva of course has to avoid his superior striking skills. Who better than Machida? The most elusive fighter out there. Silva is 6'2" and Machida is 6'1" and both naturally weigh the same. Silva wouldn't be holding his hands at his side (like he did against a journeyman type like Gump). |

I'm from North America and I think Forrest Griffin is the best fighter ever because I'm dumb, like all North Americans. Sure wish I was as smart as people who aren't from North America.
I don't expect we'll see either GSP or Machida fighting Silva anytime in the before December 2010. I think the UFC will want to give Machida a chance to solidify his position. Machida has yet to defend his belt.
GSP is expect to defend his belt again, probably before the end of the year. He's also said that if he were to fight Silva, he'd want lots of time to prepare for it. I assume that means putting on a lot of muscle and working extensively with world class strikers. It would be the biggest fight of his career.
But of course, being a North American, I think that Forrest Griffin could take out all of them at the same time. |

If the fans want to see GSP fight Silva, the fight will take place. The weight will not be an issue if both fighters have several months to prepare. |

hey i love GSP-great fighter, but Silva would murder him. Silva seems to be a natural at 205 and I just dont think gsp could put the weight on to contend with the spider. Plus GSp is not going to take Silva down like he does with so many other oppents.......Silva striking..just dont see GSP making it past rnd 2 in this one
Lesner to fight Carwin soon wil be a good one.......cant wait for that |

Shane Carwin will get slaughtered in that fight. Brock Lesnar's wresting skills will earn him a quick victory. Both fighters should be tested for steroid use on a regular basis. Brock Lesnar would not pass an anabolic steroid test. He is a huge money maker for the UFC, so Dana White would give Lesnar a "heads up" before a steroid test. |
