If you were to do a Masters degree in Education online while working in Korea, which school would you choose and why?
P.S. I'm thinking about doing this. |

University of Missouri
Good instructors, relevant material, fair price and not too heavy a workload.
The program is designed for educators currently in the classroom, so the workload is lessened. It is also an advantage to have classmates with so much experience in the classroom.
I am taking 2 courses a semester and they break them into two 8 week intensive courses so you can concentrate on the 1 subject matter.
I highly recommend the program.
Good luck. |

That looks like it could be right up my alley. I'm going to look into it. Thank you sir!
Of course, any other suggestions, recommendations, warnings, etc. are appreciated. |

Off the top of my head, I would say 36 credit hours (3 hours per course). Like I said, I am doing 2 classes a semester and it will take me 3 years (no summer class for me, though they are offered) to complete the program.
The cost is about $950US per class, so about $12,000US for the entire program (classes and books). I am able to get all my books through Kyobo, so no shipping costs. |

(insert long whistle here)... essh. a grand per class? ouch. i forgot how expensive american universities can be. come to think of it, we all get pretty shafted by that. the rest of the world gets a higher education and degree for nearly half the cost we pay for it. and then they get to come to america and get higher priority because they have the experience of coming from abroad.
only solidifies my choice to get an M.A. abroad. probably Japan. already looked into it. even the most expensive schools will get u in for 8K (usd) or less. thats tuition, books, and housing. no cost of living of course though.
of course, if the u.s. gov't would consider forgiving student loans because of the current state of the economy (which im surprised to say, its actually considering.... probably wont happen though).. i'd be more than happy to just have 12k or 15k in debt for grad school. that'd be like nothing compared the ocean of student loan debt im swimming in now, haha. |

Hey GS,
You're taking the "Master of education in learning, teaching and curriculum with an emphasis in learning and instruction and a focus in TESOL (M Ed)" correct? That would give you a Masters of Education if I'm reading it correctly. I would prefer a Masters of Education than a Masters in Tesol though it might only be a semantic difference.
