My ex-girlfriend/kind of girlfriend/not really girlfriend seems to have started a section of her page on the bulletin board dedicated to learning Korean...go to the Խ section and click on 'let's study!'. She puts up sections of the comic strip Marine Blues with the explanations below.

Good for intermediate Korean students... |

Hey Mithridates, have you ever read "Hadashi No Gen" in Japanese? Do you know if they have it in Korean? |

I'm a big fan of by ڱ. The books have a comic strip on one page, then an anecdote on the next. Sometimes it's sappy, sometimes it's hilarious. It's a neat insight into modern Korean life.
ø is also pretty funny, and great for people with dirty minds. Plus, there are no essays to get in the way so it's a bit easier. |

mithridates how old are you?
You look like 21 or 22 in all the pictures that "girlfriend who isn't a girlfriend" has of you. |

>. I find this is a good way to stay up your Korean & maybe ever sometimes learn a little more.
Only problem is, outside of glancing from time to time over the gf's shoulder while she reads,
i'm usually just too damn disinterested to pursue it that much ... |

I'm 24; born September 11, 1979.
She told me actually that I didn't need to point out that she is my
ex-girlfriend/kind of girlfriend/not really girlfriend
but for some reason the words keep slipping out...
What about you Mr. Pink? (age, I mean) |

I'll be 31 this year. But since I am pretty big in size, I've never really looked my age. You look younger than you are - use it to your advantage if you can. Korea is all about youth.
Also noticed the picture of you with a language book - are you totally fluent in Korean? |

Comics are a great way to help you learn a language. I learned a lot of dutch that way, because i enjoyed the culture and people there. I can honestly say I learned more dutch in 6 months than I have Korean in 2 years.
Why? something inside me just does not admire or love Koreans- so I have no great enthusiasm for the language. I'm working on it though... |
