Scary how some people think around here. |
Strange. I got the same thing in reverse the other day from a male Korean friend. I was gushing about a married PE teacher at work and he said, "Does he have a son or a daughter?"
"Yes. One of each."
"Oh. Better forget about him then."
As if the married part just didn't count on its own....... |
That isn't a normal way of thinking? Like I won't go after a married guy, but I might still think about him. Once he has kids though, I've noticed that I become completely indifferent. |

That pretty much eliminates most of the mates on Dave's eh? |

Personally, I advocate a more "Logan's Run" style of society. Where, when we turn 30, we all turn to dust. 30 for me is only 5 years away, but it feels like my life will be over at that point. Oh, to stay young forever... |
From your posting, I thought you were in your 40s. You are way too mean and bitter re:women to only be 25! |

He said it as though if he were only married, I would have still had a chance. Anyway, it doesn't hurt a thing to think about him, whether he's got kids or not. He's gorgeous. |

I think benji is being a little "cheeky", but men don't go thru menapause, which can cause "moistness/lubrication" issues for women, as well as a plunge in sex drive and just a general shriveling up.
its onset depends on the woman. I think my mother didn't get hers till she hit 50.
from a male perspective, I'd say menstruation and menapause are reasons one and two why I'm glad I am very glad to be a man. |
Women typically begin menopause around 50. I've never hear about anyone "shriveling up" because of it. Some women also have happy, active sex lives well into their golden years. |

It's just the truth. I think that guys who deny this are either jealous or just have not seen it yet |
Nope.
Instead of getting jealous (i.e, feeling insecure), I usually go out of my way to avoid "dudes" who feel the need to brag about their sexual conquests to other "dudes" at any given time. |
Well, you sound like quite a politically correct, intelligent, progressive, proper gentleman. Truely 21st century. Congratulations. |

In my experience it's all about attitude. If you got it, it doesn't matter how old you are, you'll find a cool girl (woman, middle aged woman, senior...we all gotta date if life makes us single). If you don't, the older you get the slimmer the pickins. |
Is that so? |

Yeah OTOS, some chicks are into the meat head look. Just like some like guys with bellies. It's true. Some like to hug soft flab in the middle because they say it's comfortable and makes them feel safe.
But with both groups, those that like that are far out numbered by girls that just like a guy thats fit. Toned muscle sure, deltoids bulging through his sleeve, no. Muscular or athletic, of course. So big it's obvious he's gonna spend more time at the gym looking at himself in the mirror than focus on her and tell her how pretty she is and how lucky he is to have her, no. Remember, girls from any culture, love to be showered with attention. If it looks like you're gonna be giving all you're attention to yourself, she may take a pass.
Same for the fatties. Some girls like that a guy is less concerned with his outward appearance. Perhaps that means he choose to expand his mind rather than his muscle. Or that he considers the time he spends with her more valuable than hours upon hours with a bunch of sweaty guys in a small room. Of course, it works to an extent. If it looks like he doesn't care at all about how he looks, the maybe he doesn't have enough self respect to not look like a homeless whale. If he's always pointing out how stupid it is for guys to bulk up that much, maybe he's just really insecure about how he looks and how frustrated he is that he's never had the will power of discipline to commit himself to a goal like getting fit, that can be really difficult.
So, the key is to find something in the middle. I try to opt for the Men's Health / fitness model look. Not the Muscle and Fitness / roid head. And not the World of Warcraft / I lived with my mom till I was 27 look either. |
Myself, I like to have lean muscle and make my body look aesthetically pleasing and ripped, instead of being huge. My body is naturally thin anyway, so I go for the natural look. I'm more into yoga and bicycling than bodybuilding these days.
But i've seen it all over. Big huge guys with huge muscles get laid left and right. And the other guys always get jealous and hate on these guys, and say "Oh that guy looks ugly. He is all steroids. Se is too big." But these comments are all fueled by jealousy.
Most guys wish they could look like that. But are too lazy, don't have the genetics, or they dont want to take risks with steroids. But deep down they want to look like that.
I'll admit it. I would take that look if I could. But I don't want to take the steroids at this point in my life. And with natural bodybuilding, I just get more of a Calvin Klein body kind of body.
But still those guys look badass in my opinion. |
Every girl I have ever dated has always told me body builder types are disgusting...too much muscle. I'm sure, though, there are a whol;e set of women who get off on that, though. Pertsonally, I would never want to look or be like that. Too much concentration on physical muscle. I am pretty athletic but don't want to go overboard. |

Anyone else here single and in their 30s. I'm finding it exceedingly difficult to meet a nice K-girl. It seems like Koreans over 30 are single for good reason, i.e. no one would take them. They tend to extend this same logic to foreigners that are over 30 and single because I only meet the dregs these days. If by some freakish stroke of luck I can get a date with women younger than 30 even they have issues.
I've been here about 4 years and have had two long-term relationships but am now in an 8 month dry spell and it's getting aggravating. |
I think the problem is not so much age, rather ALL women no matter how old they are have too many 'issues'.
Anyway, just tell everyone you're 29. Problem solved ;-p |

most of the posters here are still quite young and believe in the fantasy "till death to us part" crammed by popular culture, and their priest.
in 5-10 years however, they'll be on Dr. Phil talking about their completely dysfunctional marriage.
and they'll essentially hate their lives.
I believe truly great and successful marriages are somewhat rare - though they do exist.
thing is - most people marry for stupid reasons. it's time - family/societal pressures, blah blah blah blah
Koreans are truly NUMBER ONE in the above categories - which is they most of their marriages are essentially a "sham" in the fantasy terms which we understand marriage to be (while young that is)
but it seems to work for them. The men have anmas and the women find young waygook teachers to find the meaning of pleasure. , right? |

you guys....
cmon,
In korea, its similar in ways to other western countries in that u cant expect to get the star treatment like in southeast asia and most parts of china without some cred, which means, finances and youthful charm. Under 30, you can get away with that since the 20s girls havent yet put it together.
In places like japan and to a lesser extent taipei, singapore, shanghai, bejing KL, jakarta, manila, you'll find more of an urban subculture like can find in US, Euro, Aus ect. If this is your niche, you can get away, among the girls, with being bohemian-cool , 30s and not have much of a career, income ect.
In korea this is not the strategy. If you want to grab a nice beautiful and intelligent lass, the way to go is to target the 'near divorced'. Theres no competition like with the singles, improving your chances greatly.Start with filtering 28-35; female; married; on all the social networking sites.
Can't believe i need to tell you guys this. dumbasses. you're old enough to figure it out.
best of luck. |

It is a complete myth that women prefer muscle bound guys. It's something guys compete with each other about, just like women compete with each other to be thinnest. Women look for many other qualities besides fitness. Much less appearance oriented than men are. |
