We all love stereotypes; fitting square pegs into round holes makes things so much easier.
Watching the latest Hollywood bit, GI Jo, I loved how they made fun of Frenchie. . . guffaws abounded in the cinema
Unfortunately, Korean stereotypes about foreign English teachers are sad, since they are so garish and lack refinement.
Join the World Korea! Learn concision and creativity! Make your hate cool! Imbue those stereotypes with depth and a hilarity that the world can enjoy! Figure out what the world hates about white guys, and tap it! |

...but we don't like being stereotyped.
The question is then, do well-developed and intelligent (if that is the right word) stereotypes diffuse racial tension OR do they add a deeper level of subtlety which subversively maintains an 'us-them' kind of thinking?
I'm not judging either way....they can be hilarious!
