I just got here a week ago and have yet to figure out the problem. I have the Xbox plugged into the back of the television with the yellow and white cords and when I switch the input (I think) I just get a black screen. I am starting to go stir crazy simply reading everyday after work and need to blow something up...soon.
HELP! |

| The connection cord on the back of the XBOX has two settings: normal and HD. Are you sure it's set to the correct one for your television? |

| Yeah, but to further explain, the DVD player they gave me doesn't work either, just a blank screen. They failed to give me a cable connector for the television, but I sincerely doubt the problem lies therein. |

There should be a yellow, red and white cable. Yellow is video and red and white are audio. You sure you got the video going into video? On some older tvs the yellow video can look white
Also you aren't messing up the RCA and component plugs are you? |

| It doesn't have a red, just a yellow and white. I know how to do these things on a US television no problem, so I do not see why I am having these difficulties. |

| Well, to be honest there's very little real room for error in plugging audio and video cables into color-coded sockets. If both your XBOX and DVD player aren't working, it sounds like a TV issue. |

Ok have you got your TV on the proper channel. Actually at times it is not a channel 3 or 4 it is a special video input. The button to change to it somewhere on the TV or remote.
Is the X-Box startup blank or is when you try to play DVDs. Also I would check if you can play Korean DVD here on your X-Box which I guess is from the US Or CANADA.
Also, do you have the proper power requirements. 110V vs 220 v.
Good Luck |

I'm actually having the exact same problem.
Xbox - plugged in through step down voltage transformer (220V --> 110V)
AV cords are plugged in back of television (only white and yellow)
Set to TV and not HDTV
TV - pressing what I think is TV/Video button. It pops up with a black screen. Even went to channel 3 and 4. No luck
I turn on the Xbox and it seems to run fine, but I can't see it on the TV. I will be moving to a new apartment this week, but was looking forward to tomorrow to space out with some gaming. |
