So I was thinking of having some sort of HDMI setup in my apartment. At the very least for my xbox. Where did you get your flat screen from and how much was it?

Costco used to have good prices, but online is usually cheapest.

If they're new, they all come from the same place, anyway.

DO NOT IN A MILLION YEARS buy from an LG or Samsung store. I did, and it was a MASSIVE mistake. When I had problems, they would only replace it with another crappy LG product (which was also bad). And the one the replaced it with was NOT on sale, so I got screwed.

Timely post. I'm looking towards getting a Full HD TV in the next month. 42" would be the ideal size. Something that could really rock out Xbox, PS3 and BlueRay for around 1 million give or take.

I'll try Lotte Mart. That LG XCanvas Secret sounds pretty good.

Yeah, It's 3.1 surround sound built in. And the speakers pop out from the sides when you turn it on.

Emart is having a sale right now on the xcanvas and pavv, not sure how the prices compare to gmarket.

yeah I just checked gmarket, the prices are better, but you have to consider how dealing with the warranty might compare between the two places.
32 inch Samsung PAV is around 690,000W at emart, around 588,000 on gmarket, I think its the same model.
32 inch xcanvas is around 577,000 on gmarket, I didn't catch the price at emart, but I know it was similar.

I looked at homeplus first, but none of them had English menus, yet the one I ordered off gmarket (300,000 cheaper) did

I'm worried about ordering off Gmarket and considering going to Technomart in Seoul instead. Ideally my girlfriend and I want a 42" - 47", in the ballpark of 1.0 - 1.5 million. 1080p is a must for the xbox and (upcoming) PS3.

Any specific models or brands you would recommend? I've been searching the local Lotte Marts and electronic stores in Seoul for an Xcanvas Secret and can't find one, and the only PAVV's and Xcanvas' I could find weren't 'True HD' but 720p / 1080i for about 1.0 - 1.2 million (in Bundang).

If you order from someone with many comments and a long history, you are probably going to be fine.

Lotte Mart and E-mart had big sales to bring in the 2010 models so they discounted last years. You can still find the Xcanvas Secret at gmarket but it was like 2.3 million or so. Maybe its changed now but its a great place to look.
