Well it turns out that 2 of the teachers have been paid now - the 2 teachers who stayed away every day last week.
The other teachers returned to the school on Friday after being paid small fractions of their salaries (100,000 won each with the "promise" of the rest to come later), but the 2 who stayed away got their money paid in full.
Everyone was united at the outset of this problem, but they had their own ideas of how to resolve it - for myself and 2 of the teachers it worked out just fine, but the others tried a different route and it didn't work.
Now a firm offer has come in to take all the teachers and all the students to a new school under a new boss - and divisions have sprung up again. The offer of working with the same contract & conditions appeals to me greatly (it'd be hard to find the same deal I currently have elsewhere) so I'm all for it...
We'll see what happens from here-on in. |

Or how clearing out the contents of the school-supplied apartment at a yardsale?
Or how about a little old-fashion accidental fire?
Or how about scaring the students the hell out of the school?
Or how about making up some posters and offering the school some free (negative) advertising?
Or you could just go to the labour board, immigration, the tax office and the pension office (not as exciting, but still effective). |
