Incorrect.
I just tried it, and it works fine. Rogers/Fido network is 850Mhz 3G (UTMS) which is one of the 3G frequencies that the Iphone supports.
If you buy it in Australia from the Apple store it will be unlocked. Be careful however as I don't think the Apple warranties are international, so if there are any issues (which there may be as quality control on the 3GS has been pretty poor) you will have to return it to Australia. |
