Is this a "let's dump on the Americans" thread!! Just curious. We "Migooks" have it rough all over the world.
It's not easy being #1!! Everyone is just itching to bring you down!! |
That's exactly the problem with America. It's always screaming from the rooftops that it's #1. Maybe if you were a little more modest, people wouldn't go after you.

Is anyone really surprised?
America is the only country with obese homeless... isn't that an oxymoron? |
I remember when I worked in Canada, I offered to give a homeless guy an uneaten Caesar salad. He turned it down telling me he didn't like salads. Right after, he went through a garbage can picking out a dirty sandwich and eating that instead. |

| Australia is now the most obese country (and the biggest polluters to boot). Start picking on them. |

Understood!! I constantly read and hear anti-American sentiment on a regular basis. If one is truely not anti-American, then they would not feel the need to voice such sentiments. Question: Is the anti-American sentiment just because we "shout it off our roof tops". All the "fatties" can't make it on to their roofs.
Your right. I left my country because I honestly dispise what I see. I am serious contemplating not going back for a long time, if ever.
Those links were great. Lewis Black lit it up with scit!! The milk portion was artwork!!! |

I don't think that's true. I read a recent article in Newsweek about this subject. The good old US of A is still no 1 in the obesity charts, but Australia has a higher rate of over weight people. |

Well, they keep talking about stones and not pounds. Thus, I am assuming this documentary was made by British. There has been a new trend in my area at Home Plus. Over the past several months (easy to tell by their accents) I have been tripping right and left over white British females that are as big as an elephant with butts/bums/arses (or whatever you want to call them) that are about the size of a Tico. Because I am 6''6 and at the "Big Stores" pants and shirts come in talls, not just larges, I have been seeing a lot of them there too. Even with them going to size 65 (inches) there were these two British women there who could not get jeans their size because they were over 65. Maybe we need an American Company to make a documentary about them. Oh, and at my last univesrity we had a lady from Australia who wore size 70 jeans. Her mother sent them to her because (as mentioned above) the biggest in the big stores usually stop at 65 inches.

Regardless, where do you draw the line between over weight and obese. Is there a little over weight, medium over weight, approaching obese overweight and then obese?
Do they use BMI? Percentage of fat? Both these methods are flawed to a certain degree!!
Again, I just don't understand how people can let themselves go in that fashion. That young kid's heart is going to pop any day now!! |

| I went home to England in the summer and it seemed there were more fat people than ever. That might be because I've been in Asia for 2 years where you don't see too many fat people. I think obesity could become a real problem in the UK if something isn't done now. |

| US, Canada, Britian and Australia are all very fat countries. All in the top 5. Obese, overweight, whatever you want to call it. So for some Brit or commonwealther to slag off America for being a fat nation is just ridiculous. Is being the second fattest country on earth anything to brag about? |

I get the feeling your perception is off because you have been in Asia for 2 years. Not that your "fatdar" isn't legit, in regard to your country. I believe this is true because every time I see a "waygoogin" female in Korea, I have a hard time remembering what the females in the west looked like. All I see is Asian females, day in and day out!! Not that it's a bad thing, but my perception is all screwed up in this regard.
On a side note, I see quite a few Korean females that look plenty over weight. |
