This has to be one of the dumbest aspects of maleness. "Drink you under the table, mate."

Where did this come from? I'm curious. Some guys in their 40s and 50s, supposedly adults, still brag about their abilities to drink.

Sure, it's a male bonding thing. But to be proud? I can spend all my pay a lot faster than you! So there, lightweight.

Strange.

This is especially true in the Hermit Kingdom. You are "strong" if you drink a boat load of ethanol!! WHAT!! On a side note. You are "weak" if you don't partake in certain "male specific" activities due to what some westerners may consider unethical due to a myriad of reasons. Cultural differences at their finest!!

Side note #2 - I alway's considered not partaking in an activity because one knows it's unethical (by their personal standards) as being strong. Sure, it would be easy to partake in said activity, but so what!!

First thing that caught my attention.

As for the question. I'm a cheap drunk. Four drinks is my max.

What was that, a Babblefish translation? Yikes!

PeteJB has often heard that he's a good drinker (or that he 'drinks well').

From personal experience I've foud this to be more common amongst American's.

When I spent a year in Texas I felt that due to the drinking age there wasn't a social drinking culture and people just wanted to "do shots" and get as hammered as possible, as quickly as possible

Yeah the I can drink more than you crowd is silly BUT...
I am a fan of killing a cube of Red Dog and having all the empties lying around in silent testimony to the course of the night. But typically a cuibe is killed while drinking with friends around a grill or fire during a 'low-key' night and thus no one needs to brag.

A cube? I have never heard that term before! I am assuming it's a 'six pack' or a 'rack' and not a 'case' of 24 cans or bottles.
