Hi,
Has anyone here ever hooked-up their ipod Touch to a monitor?
I often run at a gym, and would like to watch boxing matches while jogging.
Thanks,
Joe |

If your monitor supports component or composite AV input.
When you said "monitor", i assume it is a PC monitor. Usually PC monitors doesn't support AV inputs but LCD TVs do. |

Well, it's a flat, TV monitor that's in front of the treadmill. I will check when I'm there on Monday, but I believe it has ports for the a/v wires (the white, yellow and blue wires). Probably other ports, too.
I'm hoping that someone on this forum has purchased a cable that connects their ipod Touch to such a monitor.
Thanks for the reply. |

I have connected to a tv with my old ipod video. The cords were RCA though. But there are plenty of different brands of cords you can buy that will allow you to for much cheaper. Read this for detailed info:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1454
Also, if you do not buy Apple's brand of the tv-out cords then you should know that Apple switches the colors around on their own cords. For instance, I bought Philips tv-out cables and they would not work. After some research I learned that I had to plug the Yellow plug into the White port on your TV, the Red plug into the Yellow port, and the White plug into the Red port. No idea why Apple did this. I guess they just insist on being different. So if your cables don't work with your touch, give that a try. |
