Does anybody have a link where I can find the checklist that I need to bring with me along with my visa issuance number? I called them and the lady I talked to said it takes 2-3 business days to get a visa issued. Is that true?

If I brought in my docs, you would think that they would be able to turn it around pretty quickly. Especially because I've already taught in Korea a year.

I have started to accept that I will not be in Korea for my start date of September 21st...

Has anybody dealt with this consulate??

They're actually pretty efficient. The woman in charge of it (if she's still there) is actually pretty cool and interesting to talk to. They got back to me pretty fast, too, sending my information and stuff to me faster than I thought it would be. But that doesn't mean you'll make your Sept. 21st deadline. But you might....

I found those guys to be very efficient. You go there at 9 in the morning, drop off your passport and documents, and they will get you the visa by 3 or 4 pm the SAME day. Mine was done the same day anyway. I dropped off my stuff at 9 and went walk-about enjoying the sights, sounds, and smells of the place. There's a really nice ice cream and sandwich shop down on Pope, I believe, not far from the consulate on Clay. I went back around 3:30 and my passport and visa were waiting on me.

ONE CAVEAT: If you need an interview, those are only given on Mondays and Wednesdays at the San Fran consulate.

I dropped off my paperwork on a monday, went home

came back on Wednesday, it was ready. I only spent about 20 minutes in the consulate total and about 6 hours in a car -_-
