I have a PC at my desk. Its running windows XP (thank god the plauge of Vista has not reached this place... maybe kim chi keeps it away.)
Is it possible to change the settings to english? So I can stop guessing as to what I am doing. The browser, MS office, et cetera...
I've tried talking to it in English very loudly and slowly but it just stares back at me, and sometimes says, "hello," at random times, or simply, "I fine."

Funny you say that, because Vista is the operating system that can actually address your problem. Vista Premium or Ultimate can be fully changed to any language.
But, if you still think, 2 years later, that the negative internet hype is correct about Vista....then stick with your XP. |

I've used Vista. Its garbage. It takes forever to do anything. I hate it and hope it dies. |

I run OpenOffice, and while it's great and does everything Office does for free, it does run a bit slowly on older windows machines. Since the computers at both of my schools are dinosaurs, it's sometimes a real hassle when I'm working on a big powerpoint (Impress in OO) presentation and it takes literally 10 seconds to save the file. |

Vista is fine, I've never had any problems with the program. I think many people who have had bad experiences with vista did so because they were running it on computers that just didn't have enough RAM installed. |

Agreed. That's why I recommend it but don't use it. There is a lite version but I've never used it. |
