Check it out.

Students are also asked to pretend that they are entering a recording studio; one suggested "rap" they are to sing follows:
Music is worth it, if youre asking me
True words, new rhythms, sweet melody
Just tell me where to get it and Ill gladly pay
For a song that says what my heart wants to say.
But dont try to fool me with aphony [sic] copy,
Cause songliftings wrong, and its got to stop, see? |
Sounds like school. |

Copyright laws are in no way ethically compelling. I'll configure my computer however I like, and any law that says I can't do that is a law I won't follow; they have no right to tell me what I can or can't do with my own physical property. These massive industries may have enough lobbying power to get the law written the way they want, but that doesn't make them right.
I wouldn't have bought their over-priced CDs even if I couldn't have pirated the music anyway, so it's not even a financial loss for them. |
