I have a subscription to the Korean Herald. There was an article today about how young people can't get jobs.

They are now flocking to Asia in order to teach English--just like I told you people.

The article isn't written by a Korean. It's an AP story.

One woman called Asia the new land of opportunity.

I almost cried Glenn Beck style.

I don't have the link. But you can find the story on page 3 or 4 of the newspaper.

We are in for a long haul.

No, this one is longer and features a woman from West Virginia.

It's in the Herald.

So Americans are now considered the "Mexicans" of Asia?

Hey- if there's an opportunity, why not take it!

Here's one about an American, European and even a Korean who sought work in China.
Quote:
When the best job Mikala Reasbeck could find after college in Boston was counting pills part-time in a drugstore for $7 an hour, she took the drastic step of jumping on a plane to Beijing in February to look for work.

Konstantin Schamber, a 27-year-old German, passed up possible jobs at home to become business manager for a Beijing law firm, where he is the only foreign employee.
"I believe China is the same place as the United States used to be in the 1930s that attracts a lot of people who'd like to have either money or career opportunities," Schamber said.

sqrlnutz123~ Very interesting article and it beckons a very complex question- why are people still bickering over peanuts in Korea when they could have a possibly better opportunity in China?

The guy's not too bright if he equates Depression Era America with great opportunities.

Okay enough Beatles. I agree with asmith fully; I am one of those college grads. After a year of looking for a job in the US and working at a bar in the meantime, I chose to hop on a plane to Asia. I repeat, I spent a FULL year after college with a good resume and professional attire/attitude with no results. It is bad.

Also, the US in the 1930s at least had free soup.

Look on the brightside. Now we have food stamps. 35 million are taking advantage.

No more standing on line for bread and soup.

Once the economy is up and running people will just go back to America anyways. Nothing will change, it's just a temporary thing.

I think this article was on CNN or MSN too. I read it. But I do think that in a year or so the job market will be much better.

Honestly, what are you trying to prove with your constant fear-mongering? People are leaving the United States in search of jobs due to the economic climate? At least they have options! I will tell you once again, this is not the end of the world. This Christmas will not be the end of capitalism as we know it.

Your reference to Glenn Beck makes me laugh, because that guys is a loon, through and through. The fact that his thought process is broadcast to millions of people scares the ever living sh*t out of me. That fake sobbing and psychopathic blackboard conspiracy scribbling makes my brain bleed. It is because of this man and people that watch his show that I would feel blessed to see a great economic disaster. Then, I could only hope that Fux News would not have the funds to broadcast their their ignorant BS!!
