| The nobel prize used to be about scientic discovery and merit. Now it's just a freak show. |

| If he were eligible (by being ALIVE), it would be his third time, the other nominations having been in 1998 and 2003. |

you can't write songs like HEAL the WORLD, EARTH SONG, and WE ARE THE WORLD without love for the world...
MICHAEL JACKSON was full of love for the world... sure he had his own problems to fight, but who doesn't.. but man, come on.. this guy spent as much time off the stage in hospitals and charities giving money, love and his time.. but the press don't want to cover that do they...
the guy was really a special a man...
talent like that, you probably wont see again in our life time... |

| Helping poor people should be an entirely different category than peace. Maybe it should be the Nobel goodwill price or its even closer to economics (Developemental Studies.) Politicians and Generals should be getting peace prizes not celebrities. Sure its nice to help the poor and raise awareness. But Peace to me is stopping wars, preventing wars, between peoples and nations. Not donating to charity. How is that peaceful, many times it's just a way of self promotion. We should give a peace prize to the guy who fixes the middle east, the person who avoids war with Iran, even the person who arrests George Bush, but Micheal Jackson? You must be just as messed up as he was to think he deserves an award. |

Lets be realistic here. I'm sure MJ contributed a lot to the world through charities and what not. But compared to whom is this considered noteworthy? There's plenty of people in the world who devote their entire lives to a cause and will never even get the chance to be awarded the prize. Their entire lives. Meaning, they're not out making hit records or playing with children in their bedroom. They're out helping their fellow man, full time.
But as someone pointed out earlier in this thread the prize has become a sham with the likes of Gore and Arafat winning it, so really, I could give a rat's ass. |

Who DEOSN'T?? Who doesn't get 14+ facial reconstructions? who doesn't sleep with little boys? who doesn't turn a billion$+ into debt?
MJ wrote 5-10 super good songs. And he could dance good. And he was also super weird and killed himself with drugs. He is also the most irresponsible, foolish role model of the modern world. But that's all because he was insane. |

Great to be back.
I think we can now safely say that Michael would have been more deserving than the ultimate awardee. |
