Does anyone know where I could take a relatively new digital camera to be fixed? (Aside from Yongsan/Technomart) Would a general electronics store such as Hi Mart be able to arrange for repairs? Thanks in advance.

The official service repair centers are actually in those places you mentioned....at least that was what I was told....

Do you mean trying to get it repaired under warranty?

I got my camera fixed last year for a mere 30,000won, no warranty 5 year old camera. The lens motor got damaged, I sent it in to get fixed on a whim. Actually I wanted to see how much and when they came with the price I gave it a go.

Between Chungmuro and Myeongdong on a street heading north towards Euljiro 4 there is a street full of camera sales/repair places. Short of getting a warrantied repair, these shops are the best option.

Thanks for your input. The camera is no longer under warranty, and I suspect a problem with the lens motor as well. jvalmer - where did you have your camera fixed?

Just the post I need! I sat on my two-week-old Sony Cybershot when it had the lens out (smart, huh?) and now the lens assembly is squashed, about 2/3 open, and the camera doesn't work.

I'm looking for a way to get it repaired. I'm in Jeonju, and best would be a place there, Daejeon, or Gwangju, but would be glad to go to Seoul, or elsewhere, if I could determine exactly how to get it done, with my (very) limited Korean. Can anyone help with any of these questions:

- Is there a major nationwide chain that does that sort of thing? If so, are its signs in English?
- Can anyone get me the name or way to identify a place, and subway or taxi directions to if in one of those cities, of a place that will repair them, anywhere in the country?
- From what subway station, and at what exit number, are the Euljiro-4 places above? How would I get to them from that exit?
- How long does this sort of repair take for them to do?

Thank you very much!

I have a film Nikon F4 that needed some repairs.

I asked around and everyone told me the same place:

Daehan camera on Jongro 3ga, on the 3rd/4th floor. They ship back and forth, at your expense, if you're not in town.

Limited English by some repairmen, but don't expect too much.

There's a place right next to Hyosung Camera in Namdaemun. If they can't fix it, they'll tell you who can.

How can I get there from the subway? Does it have a sign in English?

It's right on Jongro, just meters from the 3ga subway entrance. Line 5, Line 1, and Orange line (8?) all go there. The building name is 대광빌딩 (Daekwang Bldg), a rather non-descript place right on the main road, on the north/'inbound' side of traffic (heading west, towards Gwanhamun and Sejong statue near Kyobo, NOT Dongdaemun direction). Their repair center is behind an office door on the 3rd floor. There's a (small) sign at the building's enterance.

Sadly, when I went to Seoul earlier this month I found that Daehan Camera had moved. Checked the website and without enough Korean I could not determine their location - I called them and I couldn't communicate well enough to determine it either. I emailed them asking if I could mail the camera, and got no response.

Does anyone know of another camera repair place?
