Hi All,
Recently got a Pentium 4 desktop computer. I got Windows XP English~Home Edition and am having trouble with MS Word. The XP box says that it's from Microsoft and put the product key in but am now having trouble with MS Word.
First, it wasn't a part of the XP disk (sort of kind of thought that it might have been). Anyway, tried downloading it and when attempting to install it, it says that "cannot find MAPI.DLL" any ideas? Do I need some gizmo or gadget? Thanks in advance for all of your help.
Cheers!

Are you also running Eudora email or Foxpro, or some email program other than Outlook/Outlook express?

This file may have been renamed by Windows to MAPI32BAK.DLL. Search the hard drive for that file. If it is found, copy it to the /WinNT/System32 (for NT,2000, or XP) or /Windows/System (for 95, 98, or ME) folder and rename it to MAPI32.DLL.
If there is not a MAPI32BAK.DLL, a compatible version of the MAPI32.DLL file will need to be installed. One way to restore the file is to install (or reinstall) Microsoft Office. The file also can be found on the Windows install CD or on another computer running the same version of Windows.
Caution: There are different versions of MAPI32.DLL for each version of Windows. Installing the wrong version could cause system problems. For further assistance installing Here is a link that may be of more help if needed.
