I was looking over the canned tuna selection yesterday and saw "mild tuna", "spicy tuna" and "vegetable tuna 야채참치"!?!
Any idea what this means? If I order a "vegetable hamburger", that would mean no beef just a veggie pattie. Is this something similar? Vegetable that looks like tuna? The picture on the can looked like real tuna.
If it means tuna with vegetables, any idea what that would be. Somehow I don't think it means peas and carrots.
I'll probably give in and just buy it next time to see.
Thanks, |

It means there are vegetables (peas, carrots, etc.) in with the tuna. It's great for making tuna salads, mixing with rice, or even eating it by itself out of the can. |

Ya, the tuna section....
All that tuna, and none in water?
Does anybody know if/where they sell tuna in water (canned tuna in water, lol)? Costco maybe? Or is it all in oil? |

Good question about the tuna in water.
I see the same canned tuna at costco as homeplus. It all seems to be packed in oil.
Anyone found packed in water? |

I am turning into a feline with my primarily canned fish diet.
I've not come across 100% no-oil tuna, yet. I have in front of me a can of tuna mostly packed in water, with drops of oils floating. It is 'DongwonChamchi: For Kimchi JJigae'. I have few other cans of other brands (unopened). |

You can find tuna in water at HomePlus or EMart but it comes in the bags rather than cans, you just have to look a bit but it should be in the canned tuna section. |

Costco also has tuna in water. It is solid white albacore, and is a little more expensive than the regular tuna. If you prefer water it is probably worth the trip an the extra money, at least it was for me. |

Dongwon makes tuna in water. It comes in a 250g bag and should be standing up in its own rack next to the cans. |

I second this opinion.
We bought some tuna in water from costco last time i was in korea a few months ago. Forgot the brand name though but it was good... Well worth the trip. Everytime the wife and I are in korea we make sure to make a trip to costco for these things. |

The tuna with hot peppers is not very good. You will regret eating it. |

Excellent~!
I'm definately heading to Costco, but I'm waiting til next Saturday when my coworker is free and we can use her car.
Homeplus and E-Mart? I'll run down the street today then and check out one of them. The nearest major store is GSMart, so I assumed the other two would have about the same things. I don't think I've seen tuna in bags there, but I'll double check when I go to my bank in GSMart.
Thanks for the info everyone~! |
