I have already found a job in Korea that is supposed to start in the middle of November. I have all of my documents ready.

I just had one question. I got my diploma from a state run, accredited online college, but they have no residency requirement so I took ALL of my courses elsewhere and transferred them. My official transcript indicates that all of my credits are transfer credits but does not say which institutions they came from.

My boyfriend is already living and working in Korea and he said that this probably would cause a problem for me since the Korean government might insist on getting official transcripts from all of the colleges I went to. The problem with that is that one of those schools was in England and it will take weeks to get a new transcript. Transcripts for visiting students there are handled through the international office and do not look like official transcripts, it took me 3 or 4 months to get them transferred to a US school because it caused me so much trouble. Now I don't have that kind of time.

Has anyone been in a similar situation (lots of transfer credits on their official transcript) and did it cause any problems with immigration?

My university has two campus, one full university, and one 2+2 university. You do 2 years at a junior college, and then you can tranfer all your credits to continue your education. My first two years of credits are all transfers. It gave me no problem. Many people on this board have said they have gotten their transcripts back unopened. I think it is mainly if your degree is questionable they actually look at your degree. They might look at your transcripts because your college is online, but if it's state run and accredited they might not. Let me ask, is the entire college online (foreseeable problems) or do you mean just your degree was online (probably no problems)?

If you are worried, just don't buy your ticket until you get your visa confirmation number.

Thanks. I got my degree from Charter Oak State College, which is entirely online but part of the Connecticut State system of higher education. Hopefully it won't be a problem but its hard not to worry.

I have everything I need from the checklist, but I only have an official transcript from Charter Oak State College, the school that awarded me my degree using only transfer credits from other schools, I do not have official transcripts from the schools where I physically walked into classrooms and listened to lectures. The Charter Oak transcript looks like a normal transcript, but it says "transfer" above all of the courses (it does not say where they were transferred from). I was worried that the Korean govt. wouldn't think this was official looking enough and would want official transcripts from all of the schools I ever attended, or took courses that counted towards my degree.

I was wondering how it worked out for you with getting your visa. Any updates?
