instead.
I can't read Hangul, but it's from the National Veterinary Research & Quarantine Service. The package had beef jerky in it, but it also had some clothes and some shoes, etc. What is going to happen with my package? I'm going to take the letter in and have someone translate for me tomorrow, but will I get the rest of my stuff? At this point I don't care about the jerky. I didn't know you weren't supposed to have it sent to you. Has this happened to anyone else?
All I want to know is if/when I will get my package.
Thanks! |

If you're lucky they'll confiscate the beef jerky and give you the rest of the stuff...
If not, they will take the whole thing because they consider it *contaminated*.
Can you scan the letter? Perhaps we can help? |

Unfortunately I can't.
So they will take my clothing/shoes, etc and just keep it?
The jerky was in a package.
I'll be pretty pissed if they keep my $200 worth of clothing. |

I am saying possibly.. I am not saying yes or not. Without reading the letter there's no way to know. |

Thanks, for some reason my camera isn't working very well.
This is the best I can gather so far, I'll keep trying.

You may have caused 7 workers to die from their overreaction to being in contact with madcow jerky. You should be ashamed of yourself, only thinking about your clothes, AKA instruments of infection. Shame, shame on you... |

There is a new law that was put in place and your package hasn't passed the scrutiny.
If there are no other ways to protect public sanitation (because of your package), they will either return the package or burn it.
Right now your package is at the Incheon Airport Post Office. You have 15 days to go there and explain yourself and decide what to do. After that date, the fate of your package will be in the hands of the officials.
(This is the gist of the letter.) |

Thanks.
Explain myself? What on earth should I say?
"Hi, I like beef jerky a lot and had my parents send me some"
I'm confused. |

Go there and tell them they can take the beef jerky but you would like to have your clothes and other stuff. Tell them you had no idea about the new law.
Be nice and *innocent* about it, apologise, promise you'll never do it again. Get a slap on the wrist and they should let you have your stuff.
Take a Korean friend to help translate. |
