Foreigners who come to Korea should of course not be expecting the same sort of standards to apply here as they do back home. That's a given.
By the same token, a Korean insurance executive who considers invading his customers' privacy to be just another tool of the trade can probably forget about ever finding employment in a western country. |

Tell him that if he can offer you a better deal, you'll switch. Win-win situation. |

Ya ta boy, you can't expect everyone to behave as you expect - you are bringing your baggage with you and will be upset 100 more times if you keep lugging it about.
That being said, the boss ought to know that as a foreigner you are not so pliable. And if he is a boss of foreigners and doesn't know 'they are different' then he is a jerk.
If I were you, I'd probably switch next time my policy was due, but might also switch back again later, just to annoy him, as soon as his influence over me was over. |

I would never switch policies for an employer, that's insane. It's completely non of his business and incredibly rude to suggest you might do that, let alone put pressure on. Changing policies is a hassle, and let's presume the OP has already done the research and chosen the policy that suits him best.[/quote] |
