Does anyone else hate working out in Korea?

At home, I used to compete in triathlons, worked out 5-7 times per week, and generally loved it. Here, I think it is impossible to work out. The equipment is old, sometimes doesn't work properly, its hard to make friends at the gym, and it just doesn't have the same feeling as being at home. With that said, I did find friends to run the 1/2 marathon in Seoul this year, but now those friends have moved on and I'm back to doing nothing. Does anyone else lack motivation to work out here?

I'm of the opposite opinion. I love working out at the gym here. You must be working out at trashy gyms. A lot of hot girls working out at the gyms i know of. I hated working out at 24hr in the states. The weight room was so full of testosterone you could choke on it. Each guy trying to bench or pull more weight that the rest. In Korea people come to work out with their friends, or simply just do their thing and leave.

The Bloopity Gym:

- Download P90X
- Buy a 20,000 won pull-up bar + 25,000 won resistance band + 15,000 won yoga mat
- ???
- Profit

No crowds + great results

Yea, my routine has gotten pretty redundant. There aren't a lot of different exercises I can do at my gym due to lack of appropriate benches, weights and space Sad

And I hate running in my gym. There's hardly any air circulation and it's quite stifling when I'm trying to bust my ass. I guess it's fine for everyone else doing their walking Rolling Eyes

I've been running about 2-3 km a day for the past month or two along with pushups and different exercises in my apartment. I also play basketball for 2-3 hours whenever I can get to the courts. I actually quite like running on the streets here because you get the inclines and people in your way so not only am I working on my running I building up my agility and lateral quickness when I have to dodge a scooter or ajumma.

I'll be joining a gym next week to get some weight training in; we'll see how it goes then.
