where can i find vinyl records in korea? first or second hand.
im aware there is a lack or record shops here but im guessing vinyl must have been sold here at some point. where is it all hiding?

The underground shopping center between 명동 and 남대문. There also used to be a number on the east end of 동대문, but that area was largely ripped down so I don't know if any are still there.

Yeah I think it's called the 회현 arcade, lots of vinyl shops there.

I saw it there a few months ago...huge selection, tons of Western music...

In Yongsan on the 3rd or 4th floor of Jun-Ja Land There is a guy with thousands of vinyl records, usually '50's-'60's stuff from what I remember.
I was this close to buying the "Ghost Riders in the sky" album with Willy Nelson and Johnny Cash.

Yeh Ive seen the shops by Myeongdong. Seems to be a good selection.

Where can I buy a vinyl player and a decent seperates stereo system? Im starting to get sick of playing stuff through my computer.

I don't know your budget but there's not that much of a budget H-Fi selection there, but certainly a good deal of money-no-object gear. There are some vintage TTs too.
You ought to be able to pick up a Project turntable, if not from there, on GMarket-there's quite a few

Kyobo Bookstore by Gangnam Station has a couple of boxes of sealed vinyl.

As for Yongsan, you can haggle a little if you're paying cash. I got about 7% off a pair of headphones.

on sidenote - back home in london i used to buy a lot of records from charity shops (same as thrift stores or op-shops) - are there any in korea? havent stumbled across any yet...
