Has anyone stayed in, or know of, any good (nice room/bathroom) love motels on the south side of the river in Seoul? Gangnam, Jamsil, or anywhere else thats not too far away?
It's my girlfriends birthday and I am already spending a lot of money on a really nice dinner so I don't have enough left over to afford a 'proper' hotel room. Budget = 50-100K.
Any suggestions before the weekend greatly appreciated! |

Try the Jelly Hotel - one block behind Yeoksam station about two blocks down from Exit 4. Tell them big daddy sent you. Price break at 70K per night - only because big daddy sent you. |

Hotel Noblesse near Yeoksam. 70k range. Subway station is like 5 feet from you. Big Bathroom and Jacuzzi. Occasional Cigarette burn on couch. Friendly staff that let us pack in an extra person for free (for that romantic three-some ). Let me keep my bags there past check-out while I shopped before I went to the bus station. Stayed there 5 days and nothing 'disappeared'. No problem letting me use their refrigerator to keep my western groceries in.
A delightful mix of older Korean couples using it as an actual hotel, Salarymen with call-girls, Young Koreans hooking up, and English Teachers getting two rooms next to each other and partying after they stumble home from the clubs in Gangnam. |

+1 for Hotel Noblesse, first motel experience in Korea and not a bad one. I still look back on the hotel fondly, if not the guy |

How do all these English teachers end up at Noblesse??? When I stayed there I had booked on-line through asiarooms.com. A buddy and I were there and right next door was another room of English teachers (friends of friends actually) purely by chance.
I should also add that Yeoksam station has the newly opened Toma Tillo. and there is a NongHyup and KFC right next to the hotel for you rural English Teacher types. |
