I wondered if anyone would like to share their experiences at a Poly School. They sound quite good on paper, as far as high level students, small classes, good salary, the usual benefits, etc. Also, I've passed through Changwon a few times, so have a general impression, but anyone want to give details re: good or not so good areas, etc.? I don't have enough posts to PM yet, so send me a message at <[email protected]> if you don't want to disclose info. on here. Thanks!

I've never worked there, but I had a friend who did. He hated it because they would not let the teacher sit down at any time during the class.

Also, before the job began, he bragged about what he called, "high pay." Within a short period, he was complaining about being grossly overworked.

From what I've heard of the place, I'd never work there unless they paid far more than what they do -- a few hundred thousand is chicken feed for what is required of you.

I'd rather work for an average wage with far fewer hours. People I've known who have followed this philosophy over the years usually find additional means of income which put them far and above over the top of what Poly pays.

And they have far less stress.

I'd rather work 22 hours, teach ASPs and get off at 4:30 than work 40 hours and finish when the clock strikes midnight. Unless it's 5-6 mil won. POLY could never pay me enough to slave for them.

Its good to get some information from non-recruiters! Sounds like Poly would be a step down from my previous 3 gigs in K-land; think I'll hold out for something better. I'm still interested if anyone else wants to share about them.
