| ^ By birth. There are a lot of Japanese (or part Japanese) folk in Brazil, as well as people stemming from various European backgrounds. |

But honestly in general, mix people I see in real life (not from TV) are less attractive than people with single ethnic background.
I know there are many mixed people or people with mix kids here on Dave's. I made this comment in a very superfical way, nothing of IQ or personality , self-esteem involved............which if you find offensive, just ignore me. |

everyone has their different tastes and views on attractiveness. I think Devon Aoki is very weird looking and not that attractive at all but many people think she's stunning....I guess you do too judging by your earlier post/comment about her. |

Attractiveness is not always a directly inheritable genetic trait, that is manifested from parents. For example, if you look at many attractive stars such as brad pitt or daniel henny. You see that... they obviously got nothing from their parents. hahaha. But seriously, look at Lee Hyori or many stars and their families. Their parents aren't so attractive. But there are some like Angelina Jolie who got her looks directly from her parents. Geneticists are still confused on how it works but there are a lot of good theories floating around.
Attractiveness is theorized to have come from being born flawless and equal in proportions therefore conforming to a golden ratio of looks. It also symbolizes fertility and the absence of parasites in the blood. (I've been reading a lot of richard dawkins lately).
One can theorize that mixes are more "attractive" because of their mixed traits that they have been born without so much "flaw" and that because of what I think is a "good combination of genes for survival".
Humans are instinctively smart creatures. Women know that even in today's society, Money = Status, and they are driven by instinct to marry a rich and successful man (yes it's instinct it's not always deliberately conscious). Our own unconscious drive for survival has a lot of blue prints we are unaware of.
My theory is that an Asian woman and White man has some trait or genetic mix-up that allows their children to be more successful in terms of survival. What it is? I have no flipping idea... But it might explain why we see so many white male and Asian female couples.
Based on attractiveness theory, we might find them attractive because the fact they are mixed makes them more genetically predisposed to fighting off parasites and diseases.
Personally, I have no idea. It's funny, humans are so intelligent but we are driven and controlled by forces we don't even understand ourselves. |

Well, not me!
(Patrick, I have no idea what happened to the agnosticism thread! It seems to have disappeared. Perhaps someone caused trouble on it.)
When I hear North Korean propaganda about the purity of their people, I laugh twice; partly because it isn't true -- we're all mutts at some level who have mixed with other peoples -- and partly because being biologically mixed is a definite advantage to most species, and for us as well. The European kings with their limited gene pool tended to have health problems. Maybe we are attracted to mixed people because they are more likely to be healthy from having a more varied genetic soup. They also seem to be good golfers and guitar players (Tiger Woods, Hendrix)!
Or, maybe they're just hot (the women, I mean), and I'm analyzing what doesn't need to be analyzed. |

| I used to work at summer camp for rich Jewish kids in the Poconos. I don't know if this counts as "mixed" but alot of the kids were the product of very attractive trophy wife type mothers, and relatively ugly, very Jewish looking fathers. The result was something to see as a lot of the kids would have the most beautiful eyes but a messed up nose, or huge lips but frizzy hair. Visiting day was hilarious! |

Dean Cain is half Japanese? Cool. It's about time these lads start letting the world know they are mixed rather then keeping it a dirty secret.
I thought people would mention Daniel Henney. My wife loves him.
An old classic is Ramon Gerardo Antonio Estevez...a famous half Spainsh / Irish actor - Martin Sheen. Loved this guy in Apocolypse Now, too bad he felt he had to keep the name a secret. Pretty racist world we come from if a guy from his generation couldn't tell the world he was half Spanish.
And I've gotta give Alba a knod too...she really is a beauty. |

I would tend to say the opposite. Mixed folks are better looking...and truthfuly how many people can honestly claim to be of such an ignorant thing as pure blood? We are all mixed in some way. Countries like Nepal really show how mixed we are. Being between China and India, Nepalis people can look either Chinese or Indian...and it is all considered normal to them...to them that is pure.
What is true is that people tend to find what they see around them most of the time attractive, so a person from Korea would tend to find Asians more attractive, while a person from downtown Vancouver might have a much broader notion of beauty.
Single ethnicity just means sheltered. |

Equal parts African, Euro, Middle Eastern and Russian...Who would have thought he was 1/4 african and a 1/4 middle eastern...thats like some round about way af being 1/2 black isn't it? |

You of course know what I was referring as "single enthnic background"
Without this "pure", there is no mixed, why bother posting a title as "who is the hottest mixed" instead of " who is the hottest human"
As previously mentioned the popular combination: white men + Asian women. Their interattraction obviously comes from their desire to mate with another (single)ethnicity, but not the desire to make mixed babies.
To judge if mixed people is more attractive than people with single ethnic background, the only way is to see how successfully the mixed people mate.
To your surprise, mixed people tend NOT to mate with mixed people but people with single ethnic background ( reference available later).
I heard even in the U.S, the country with the most diverse population, you still have to be very competitive to marry a blonde woman. |

I'm not sure I agree with this. How do you explain the numerous people who seek out someone of different races for partners? "Exotic-looking" women/men are often revered as being more desirable than the girl next door... |

Oh...Goku...I disagree.
In my opinion, "mixed" people are no more or less good-looking than so-called "pure" people.
I think there is an exoticism factor going on where someone who is "mixed" will have that added on, and it's something people remember:
"Oh, of course she's hot, she's black and Japanese!"
Meanwhile, the unattractive or even just average Blasian girl might not even be considered mixed or won't really get noticed., and it's not her mixed-ness that makes her unattractive or average.
So Halle Berry's "mixed-ness" is what makes her so attractive and exotic to people. Meanwhile, I get blank stares when I ask if they know who Rain Pryor is, lol.
It's also interesting to note that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, long considered by Western Standards to be Woman #1 and Man #1 are, in fact, not biracial or recently mixed. |
